When we breed a litter, we are breeding for ourselves first and will keep as many show puppies that we feel is necessary from this pedigree to further our program. Then I select the owners from the wait list to pick out their pup.
Our pups start their lives in our living room & therefore are used to all the noises in the household. Later as they get older they are transferred to our puppy room off the kitchen. They also might go outside in an expen with their mother for a bit of time during the day (weather dependant).
We sell all of our puppies on an AKC Limited registration which means they are AKC registered dogs , but they cannot be used for breeding & cannot be shown in conformation. They can however compete in agility, dock diving, hunt trials, obedience, rally, tracking & other performance events. We ask that you take your puppy to a vet for a physical exam within 72 hours of receiving it. If there is anything wrong with the pup that causes you to feel you cannot keep him/her, you may return the pup within 24 hours of the diagnosis with a letter from the examining veterinarian, for a full return of your puppy price. We will not be responsible for any unauthorized vet bills.
We are committed to breeding only healthy dogs that meet the breed standard. Our breeding dogs (sire & dam, grandparents & great grandparents) undergo many genetic tests (Hips & Elbow Dysplaisa, Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), Centrnucleur Myopathy (CNM), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), Retinal Dystrophy/Oculoskeletal Disease (RD/OSD), Copper Toxicosis, Stargardt Disease, Non-Dilute & Eyes) to ensure they are free of any hereditary diseases (although there is no 100% guarantee one might occur). We carefully select breeding pairs to produce puppies that will be healthy and have desirable traits.
All my dogs and the sires selected undergo numerous health tests before being bred.
